Resetting the FieldPoint Configuration

This section explains how to reset the FieldPoint configuration in case the Align

or Validate tabs cannot connect to the FieldPoint because different FieldPoint

hardware is being used or the configuration was inadvertently changed and

saved.

Refer to the steps in the “FieldPoint Configuration” on page 52 in the Software

Installation section.

1. Locate the Setup Install CD or backup of the correct IAK file (e.g.

CD:\Other\ExtraCopy\Config10.0.0.101.iak).

2. Delete the IAK file in C:\709Align\.

3. Start the National Instruments Measurement & Automation Explorer (NI-

MAX).

4. Expand and delete the Remote Systems in NI-MAX.

5. Restart NI-MAX.

6. Expand the Remote Systems to locate the FieldPoint hardware and setup the

IP address is not already done in NI-MAX (refer to step 2-3).

7. Copy the correct IAK file from the Setup Install CD to C:\709Align\.

8. Open the IAK file in C:\709Align\ with NI-MAX using Tools menu >

FieldPoint > Open (refer to step 4-6).

9. Expand Data Neighborhood and verify data acquisition is functioning (refer

to step 7).
