Data acquisition with dynamic load

If you are using the 793 Station Manager Function Generator, make sure the

active control mode is force when you start the Function Generator to

acquire data with dynamic load.

If you are using the FlexTest Station Manager, the Function Generator will change

the control mode to displacement when the pod is enabled. This can damage the

specimen when the Function Generator is put in a Run condition. MTS

recommends using Basic TestWare, which does not change the settings when the

pod is enabled.

additional information.

These fields are used in conjunction with the test controller’s function generator.

• Sample Points specifies the number of points of each data set to sample.

• Function Cycles is the number of cycles you plan to run with the test

controller’s function generator, which does not affect data acquisition.

• Function Frequency is the setting you should use for the test controller’s

function generator to yield the number of cycles specified for the sample

points specified.

• Ramp Rate is the rate needed to reach the levels specified on the Specimen

tab at the function frequency.
