15. Slide the collar up the specimen and over the adapter.

16. Install the socket head cap screws finger tight.

17. Tighten all the cap screws on both grips to 10% of the torque

specified in Table 2-1 in the order shown in Figure 2-2.

Measure the gap between the collar and the grip base to ensure

it is equal all the way around. Tighten and loosen cap screws

as necessary to achieve an equal measurement.

18. Continue tightening the cap screws in 10% increments. Re-

measure the collar to grip base gap between each increment.
